Photography, like writing, is one of my life’s passions. I’ve visited, and photographed, many of the locations I use in my contemporary romance novels. So I thought I would share my photos of some of the places we visited in my earlier novels.
My contemporary romance novel, The Betrayal, includes scenes from the famous Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, California. Emily and Jesse, are spending a romantic Christmas holiday at the hotel. It’s been an especially difficult year for Emily. First, she caught Jesse in the act with another woman. Then another man came along and took advantage of her vulnerability. Jesse, however, refused to give up on Emily. He wants her back, and they’ve both agreed to see a marriage counselor. Their hard work has paid off. Emily plans on moving back in with Jesse once the holidays are over, but there newfound happiness will be short lived
The Hotel del Coronado dates back to the late nineteenth century with its Queen Anne revival architecture. It also has a reputation for being haunted. Kate Morgan, a young hotel guest in the 1890s, met an untimely end during her stay, and her ghost is said to haunt hotel today. In the mid-twentieth century, the hotel was used as a location for Some Like it Hot, starring Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe. Like Kate Morgan, Marilyn’s ghost is also said to haunt the hotel.
